Michael Palin: Pole to Pole is a British travel documentary series that follows Michael Palin on an epic journey from the North Pole to the South Pole, following as closely as possible the 30-degree east longitude line.
The series documents Palin’s travels through the Arctic, Europe, Africa, and finally Antarctica, covering a variety of landscapes, cultures, and political climates. Along the way, he encounters challenges such as extreme weather, logistical difficulties, and political unrest, particularly in Africa. The journey takes him through places like Norway, the Soviet Union (just before its collapse), Egypt, Sudan, and South Africa, among others.
